Etherea App is a pioneering platform designed to inspire social awareness and action by immersing users in interactive, thought-provoking experiences. Through education and gamification, the app addresses global issues like climate change, animal cruelty, and mental health, making complex and often uncomfortable topics accessible to all.
As part of this initiative, two augmented reality (AR) scenes have been developed to deepen user engagement and understanding. These AR experiences focus on pressing themes: deforestation and animal cruelty in cosmetic testing. Each scene is crafted to highlight the stark realities behind these issues, combining immersive storytelling with visually compelling environments to provoke thought and encourage meaningful action.
To bring these AR scenes to life, I contributed across multiple stages of the project:
-Concept Development: Outlined detailed scene descriptions and storyboards to establish the narrative and visual direction for each experience.
-3D Production: Created, modeled, textured, lit, and rendered assets for both scenes, optimizing them for AR compatibility.
-Scene Implementation: Tested the scenes on both PC and mobile devices, ensuring smooth functionality and visual quality.
-Client Collaboration: Worked closely with the client to refine the scenes based on feedback, incorporating last-minute adjustments like chat bubbles from specialists to enhance the educational aspect.
-Video Integration: Recorded the AR experiences and composed them into realistic phone mockups using After Effects for integration into the app prototype.
